As time races by amid the crowds of the big city, we all long more and more for nature and the natural. We want to bring natural materials into the spaces we live in, and we make our choices accordingly. For this reason, all around the world there is a movement toward nature and the natural, and with it a form of production geared to meeting this need. We are seeing decorative fabrics made entirely from natural yarns such as linen, cotton and wool, in natural colours too — linen shades, earth tones, stone hues. This return to the natural has brought texture strongly to the fore. We will now see plain-coloured yet textured fabrics far more often. Fabrics that appeal not only to the eye but to all the senses — relief-worked, raised, tone-on-tone or two-coloured, graduated, richly textured. Rather chic, don't you think?
